Piñon RosePosted by Dornbrau (Colorado Springs, United States) on 19 April 2007 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I have learned that to find beauty in nature one must not limit themselves to flowers and butterflies. Here a dried cone from the pinon tree lies on a fallen juniper log. A couple of years earlier and I might have just seen it as a pinecone on a dead log. A couple of years ago I might not even have noticed it. My camera really opened my eyes and broadened my vision so when I came across the little pinecone, I saw a delicate flower lying upon a beautiful table. * Fort Carson, Colorado
