Friends of a FeatherPosted by Dornbrau (Colorado Springs, United States) on 12 April 2007 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. The shrill tinkle of humming birds fill the early evening air around a nectar pot. As swift as they are tiny, the petite birds flit around like little fairies in the sky. * Beaver Creek, Colorado

Still from FranceA superb and colourful image. The silhouettes of the birds are beautiful! 12 Apr 2007 10:49am badala from Leiria, PortugalAn elegant work on these silhouettes! Beautiful colors. 12 Apr 2007 12:01pm Fallenargo from North Bay, CanadaWonderful capture of the birds. They never stay still for very long. I especially like the translucent wing of the bird in the middle. 12 Apr 2007 1:58pm @Fallenargo: That was a bonus find for me when I downloaded the pictures. The majority of the pictures I shot that day of the birds were all translucent because they were moving so fast. JackGirl from dreamland, BrazilOh..that's a winner photo...so perfect ...I love it.... 12 Apr 2007 2:20pm Rui Borges from Sintra, PortugalGive us the secret to be always in the right place at the right time... 12 Apr 2007 2:28pm @Rui Borges: Thank you. The secret is patience! I shot dozens of shots, most of which were too blurry to save. This was one of the few that were even halfway decent. Jen from Jessup, United StatesOutstanding image! Those little birds are so quick and you captured them perfectly...not to mention the gorgeous sky behind them...overall composition is fabulous!! 12 Apr 2007 2:40pm @Jen: I wish I could take credit for the colors of the sky, but that was all Mother Nature's doing. Srinivas Koduri from Wheeling, IL, United StatesFantastic silhouette, the background is amazing, vibrant. how lovely, brilliant !!! 2 thumbs up. 12 Apr 2007 3:54pm Shuva from Hyderabad, IndiaHa!
