I love flowers. Unfortunately my gardening skills leave a lot to be desired. I do not have a green thumb. If anything, I have a gangrene thumb. Every plant I touch dies. My whole lawn died. Not just the front, but the back yard as well. I call it 'zero-scaping'.
Sadly I must depend on parks and public gardens to satisfy my hunger for botanicals. This particular bed of flowers caught my eye with its simplistic beauty. I softened the focus and increased the saturation to create my dream wildflower garden.

I love the surreal effect the post-processing gave it. There's something almost ominous about the flowers.

Lovely capture and technique Dornbrau. It does feel surreal, larger than life...almost as if the hard armor of the center of the flower is protecting its delicate petals.

The backlighting gives it a glow and creates an different-world feeling. Nice, warm and soft. Did you use any softening filter/post processing?

I think you made up for the lack of gardening skills with the flower photography. This is really lovely.
I am also not a good gardener. It's a lot of work and I just don't do it very well. Although I continue to try. If there was a law about plant abuse or neglect, I'd probably be in jail by now.

Haha, I have the same problem too when it comes to gardening. Get hardy plants that will take great effort to kill but needed only low maintenance. COne flower will keep on flowering for a couple of years with minimal attention. :-) And yes, great shot. Very dreamy .... :-)
