Who?

There is something very intelligent about the intense stare of an owl, even a baby one. I came across these two little guys in a huge stick nest on the ground of the walkway of a range tower. These youngsters snapped their beaks loudly for a moment, but quickly calmed down. They had either decided that I was not a threat, or they knew that Mama and Papa were perched somewhere near by to come to their aid if necessary. The huge nest was moved this winter when the babies learned to fly. It was relocated to a nesting box just over the side of the rail of the walk way. The last time I passed by I saw an adult owl fly out of the shelter so I'm sure their new home has passed inspection.
