A statue of Kit Carson riding off into the sunset greets visitors just outside the main gate at Fort Carson, Colorado. Now days I see the statue as a representative of the soldiers who currently serve our country. (This was one of my first pictures taken with my Nikon D70 2 years ago. Sadly I have lost the original file and cling to this copy like a love letter faded and tattered from constant handling.)

superb silhouette! Saturation is excellent! The cloud on the top left kind of directs your eyes towards the sunset... very well done!

This is spectacularly good, every part, that little cloud coming in from the left, the way the landscape glides up to the right, the colours, the shapes, make plenty of backups of your only copy, don't lose this one.

I was thinking how magnificent it was to be able to capture the rider like that. Learning that it was a statue did nothing to diminish my appreciation of the image, though. Makes me think of the Lone Ranger radio programs which I love so well.

Backups are a good thing, eh? Seriously nice photo. The colors are great and you have the angle spot on. The statue really looks like some 1950's cowboy hero riding off into the sunset. Cheers.

I can completely imagine why you would want to hang on to this shot. It is simply superb. Exposure is on the money, and composition is terrific. I have many shots for which I have lost the original scans (from my film shooting days) and I really cherish the bad images that I am left with.
