American Mother's Chapel

The quiet serenity that normally surround this tiny chapel, a popular wedding and meditation spot at Rock Ledge Ranch, is interrupted by the arrival of spring's first storm. It didn't last long, just enough to wet the ground and then it moved off eastward.

Is this the Garden of the Gods outside Colorado Spring? Home of Kissing Camels rock? I once lived in Manitou Springs and drove through that park frequently.

@George: Yes, that would be the place. I love hiking around the rocks at Garden of the Gods, its a whole different place than what you might see from a car window, and its breath taking when its buried in snow. Manitou is a beautiful, quaint little town. I often take my camera out there and am never disappointed.

Hi, I just read your response to my message above. About Manitou Springs, I lived there in the winter of 72/73 in an old Castle named Montcalm Castle Built by a French priest in the 18th century if I remember right..It was up a hill just off a road that led to the cog railway. It had nine apartments-all filled with a bunch of unemployed hippies. Rent was cheap and winter was beautiful. The castle, I heard, was later converted into a historical landmark. As a photographer you have probably noticed it. I live in Seattle now, have a job, and am a hippie no more, alas!
