This redtail hawk landed in a nearby pine tree to pluck a pigeon. After a very slow approach I was able to get right up under the bird, who didn't seem the least bit concerned by my presence or the loud persistent clicking of the camera. Here he pauses from his meal only long enough to be reassured that I was only moving a branch out of the way.
